How to Find Your Unique Sense of Style

Stills

Having a unique sense of style is something that's incredibly important to me. I think that's why I find it so annoying when people go out of their way to copy other people. Now don't get me wrong; there's absolutely nothing wrong with taking inspiration from someone. In fact I think it's incredibly flattering and it shows that all the hard work they've put into creating their own style has paid off. However completely copying someone's style item for item can be a little annoying; individuality is key people. It's important to make something your own.

So with individuality and a strong sense of style being something I feel strongly about, I thought I'd give a few of my own ideas on how to ensure you stand out from the crowd!

Boutique brands are a great place to head to if you're looking for something a little different. So many people head straight to the high-street where it can be hard to find something unique. So Instead of sticking to your Topshop's and your Primark's, why not go a little further afield? Look down your local side streets or go on a shopping trip somewhere new.

I think one of my favourite items of jewellery is a ring in the shape of a rabbit. Sounds weird I know but I used to get so many compliments on it! Quirky and unique items of jewellery really say a lot about a person and they can be a great conversation starter. If you buy Alex Monroe online, you'll see lots of quirky characters from bees to gingerbread men! I've seen some great pieces of jewellery that you probably wouldn't be able to pick up in any old shop.

If you want to be truly unique then why not make your own clothes and accessories? Don't get me wrong, sewing isn't the easiest of things to pick up, however if you're a bit of a dab hand with a needle and thread then something like an A-Line skirt would be a great place to start. I absolutely love creating my own jewellery; all you need is some beads and thread and you can create something completely unique!

I hope this post helped you if you're struggling to find your unique sense of style. Remember, don't be afraid to experiment with different styles, colours and outfits to help you find what works for you.
