IMG_4842

Working in fashion is a dream that many of us share. If you love fashion enough to want to spend your entire day immersed in it, then there are several ways you can do just that. Not all of them will earn you enough money to live on at first, but if you love what you do and get good at doing it, there's no reason why you can't succeed!

The first thing to remember is that there's lots of ways you can get involved in fashion. You don't just have to design clothes. You might choose to write about style and fashion, like me! Setting up a blog isn't too tricky although it's important to ensure your content is engaging. Try and find your own voice and your own niche.

You might be interested in getting on board with a fashion publisher. You can find kids fashion magazine examples online to help you broaden your horizons. Perhaps you have a special affinity to bridal wear? Pick your area and research into it as much as you can.

Many people prefer the practical side of fashion. You might be a budding stylist looking to put together the latest outfits. It's important you know what's available on the high street and also in the shopping centres. Try using the catwalk for inspiration with a focus on street style. If you can provide clothing ideas for lots of different body shapes then you could be the perfect personal shopper or stylist!

Retail is another great avenue into the fashion industry. Starting online is the quickest and easiest way to get yourself set up. Try hiring a model or two and take some great photos of what you are selling. Eventually you might find you're ready for your own high street boutique! Another retail option is working in a shop as an assistant. If you mange to get a job in a designer shop you might even find yourself gaining experience as a personal shopper or stylist.

If fashion really is your passion there are so many ways you can make it a career. It's a competitive industry but if it's something you feel passionately about, there's no reason why hard work and perseverance can't pay off.

Good luck!
