Autumn Inspired Makeup

August Makeup 1 August Makeup 2

Autumn is by far my favourite season for makeup. All those dark lipsticks and rich eyeshadows get me seriously excited for the colder months and you guessed it... CHRISTMAS. Now autumn itself is all about rich reds and opulent golds so I wanted to try and create an autumn inspired makeup look incorporating these tones... And this was what I ended up with! It was a bit of an experiment but I was super chuffed with how it came out. And here's how I created it!

To create the base for this look I used my 3 favourite "holy trinity" products. I rarely switch up my foundation, concealer and bronzer because they really aren't seasonally interchangeable for me. Foundation wise I went for Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light. This stuff leaves my skin oil free all day but still gives me a dewy glow. For my concealer I chose Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer. This covers the darkest of dark circles and brightens my under eye area like no other. Bronzer wise I chose L'Oreal's Glam Bronze. To date I haven't been able to find a bronzer that's as good a colour match for me as this bad boy.

For my cheeks I decided on the Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Blush in Bang Bang Your Dead (it should be You're Makeup Rev... Sort it out). I love these baked blushers because they double up as a highlighter as well. Gotta love a product that saves time especially on a Monday morning. This shade has a gorgeous mix of dark purples and pinks which are all such perfect autumn shades.

I used a few different products to create this eye look. First up I went for the By Terry Ombre Backstar melting eyeshadow in Bronze Moon. This stuff is so creamy and pigmented and is the perfect base for any smokey eye look. To define I used my Stila "Eyes are the Window to the Spirit" palette. The colours in this palette are so rich, especially the gold tones. I defined my crease with a burnt red colour and highlighted the inner corner with a gold shimmery shade. To finish the look off I brought the burnt red shade down onto the lower lash line and lined the inner water line with a kohl liner. I curled my lashes and then applied a few coats of the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara; my fave!

My favourite part! I'm absolutely in love with this shade which is Lolipop by Revlon. I've worn this so much over the last few years. It's not a major long laster however it is super hydrating and easy to apply for a dark shade.

And that's it! I hope you like this look, let me know if you've tried anything similar yourself and be sure to share any pics with me on Instagram (sophy_victoria) and Twitter (@hellodizzylizzy) if you have!
