Autumn Time Capsule Wardrobe: 5 Outfits

Autumn is the best time of year for fashion, or at least I think so anyway! I love the dark mauve's, the deep greens and the chunky knits that filter onto the high street throughout November. They make me feel so lovely and festive! I've been doing a bit of online window shopping over the past week or so and have found some beautiful things that I wanted to show you. So instead of just doing a standard wish list, I thought I'd break the selection up into outfits; mixing and matching the perfect autumn time capsule wardrobe to show you how awesome autumn fashion can be!

If you aren't sure what a time capsule wardrobe is, then it's best described as a core selection of clothes that you can base the rest of your collection around. Think of your wardrobe at home; I bet you have 5 or so pieces that you wear the most, and a few others that you switch around? That's basically your time capsule wardrobe! I've made this one up of the things that I believe are important for autumn; a decent coat (HERE), a good scarf (grey HERE and tartan HERE), some classic ankle boots (HERE), a pair of black/ maroon skinny jeans (black HERE, maroon HERE), a dress for day or night (tartan print HERE and flower print HERE), some cable knit jumpers (maroon HERE and cream HERE) and some good sturdy heels (HERE). Oh and not forgetting a clutch bag! (HERE)

Outfit #1
I actually just bought a dress like this from Silk Fred! I'm in love with mine, mainly because of the tartan print which is seriously in this season. These kind of dresses are super comfy and so wearable; matched with some black tights, ankle boots and a good long coat you have the perfect daytime shopping outfit!

Outfit #2
Cable knit jumpers have been in for years, which is good seeing as I have so many! This cardigan version looks so comfy and would look perfect matched with maroon jeans, a tartan scarf and those Chelsea style ankle boots.

Outfit #3
I need this dress in my life! The collar is gorgeous with the embellishment detailing. Here's another way to dress up that camel coat and clutch, matched with chunky heals and that dress you've got a stunning evening outfit.

Outfit #4
A leather jacket can really smarten up a simple look like this. Grab your maroon skinnies, your ankle boots, a chunky knit scarf, a simple white t-shirt and you've got the perfect "drinks after work" outfit!

Outfit #5
This is a similar outfit to #2 but I think it's a little more grungy with the dark chunky knit jumper and washed out black skinnies. If you're someone who prefers a more "All Saints" style look then this is the one for you; comfy and sultry :)

What are the key autumn pieces in your wardrobe at the moment?

Lots of Love,
DML
