Disco Pants

Last night I went out for a friend's birthday. It was pirate themed but we went for dinner first so I decided to mug off the fancy dress (sorry Max!) and go with my current favourite look instead; black disco pants, a simple strap top and ankle boots.

So... What is it about Disco Pants?

This years must have wardrobe item, they go with everything and come in an eclectic range of colours. If you're feeling confident go for an electric blue or a bright green. Feeling a little more reserved? Try a charcoal grey, dark blue or my firm favourite, black. They're really versatile and make a great statement piece for both day and night.

During a winters day (let's be real here.. It's getting pretty cold!) you can dress a dark shade down with an oversized woolly jumper, ankle boots and a huge, slouchy bag. Try a cream shade of jumper with some charcoal disco pants or a dark brown/ grey jumper with black. The perfect cosy and most importantly, comfy outfit to wear while Christmas shopping during those cold winter afternoons.

For night time, the possibilities really are endless! Glitzy strap tops and sequined silver tops will go so well with black disco pants. Think Christmas party or New Year's Eve rave! You'll get compliments galore and what's even better; your pins will look super skinny in those black, shiny leggings.

Here are a few images I found for inspiration. Two night time looks and a great daytime look at the bottom too!

And here's what I wore with my black disco pants last night. The top was from ASOS and the boots were from Next....

**Dizzy Lizzy's Top Tip**
Don't over complicate things. I know it's easy to keep adding to your outfit but disco trousers really don't need that much dressing up. If you're wearing a statement top with them keep the accessories to a bare minimum; think simple earrings and a tousled hairstyle (loose up, bed hair down). Daytime look? A large pair of earrings will go really well with a chunky knit jumper but try and leave it there.

Happy disco-ing!

Lots of Love,
Dizzy Lizzy xxx
